Questions To Ask Your Inspector
- Is the inspector licensed in the state of Alaska as a Home Inspector?
- What is the inspectors background? (Desirable backgrounds include work as a contractor, architect, tradesperson, or engineer although such back grounds do not automatically qualify an individual.)
- How long has the inspector been in the home inspection business?
- Does the inspector have adequate insurance? (Clients should ask for written proof of Errors and Omissions Insurance (E&O) and liability insurance.)
- What does the inspector do during a typical inspection?
- Is a written report provided (as opposed to a verbal report)? How many days after the inspection will the client receive the report?
- What information does the report contain?
- Will the inspector be available for follow-up questions?
- Can the client attend the inspection?
- How long will the inspection take and how many inspections does the inspector perform in a single day?
