Residential Endorsement Renewal Help
We understand renewing your license can be troublesome, so we are providing you with all the information you'll need to renew. If you have a question that is not addressed here, or you are still confused, contact us and we'd be more than happy to help.
Renewal Application
You will need to submit a renewal application to the state of Alaska. You can find your Residential Endorsement renewal application here for the current renewal period of 1/1/09 thru 12/31/10. Fill out the form, send your renewal fee, attach proper insurance and bonding proof, and you should receive confirmation in a few weeks with a new license.
Continuing Education Requirements
With a residential endorsement license, you are required to obtain 16 hours of continuing education every 2 year licensing period. Every residential endorsement license has the same expiration date, regardless of when you originally obtained your letter. All residential endorsement licenses are coming due on December 31, 2010. Failure to renew your license will result in an invalid license, meaning you are no longer licensed to perform duties covered under that license. If your original issue date for the license during this renewal period (January 1, 2009 thru December 31, 2010) you will not be required to obtain all 16 continuing education hours. Please see the chart below.
Original Issue Date of Residential Endorsement / Hours Required by 12/31/10
Prior to January 1, 2009 / 16 Continuing Education Units or Hours
January 1, 2009 - December 31, 2009 / 8 Continuing Education Units or Hours
January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2010 / 0 Continuing Education Unit or Hours
If you obtained your residential endorsement license this year, you do not need to take continuing education to renew your license, however you will still need to submit the paperwork and renewal fee to the state of Alaska.
Education Schedule
If you do not have your required education complete at this time you have many options available! You can take an in person class, our schedule is posted on line here. Or if you have a schedule that does not work with any of the posted dates, you can take approved online education here. But if you can't seem to make either of those options work we will be offering classes again in the fall starting in September.
