Overview of BEES Ventilation Standard

Course Description: This class is offered as a refresher course to help you pass the BEES Ventilation Exam which is required to recertify general contractors, owner builders, energy raters, architects, engineers, mechanical contractors, and ICBO inspectors who sign for ventilation compliance on the PUR 101 form.   This class will cover the Building Energy Efficiency Ventilation Standard (BEES) which is required of all homes in Alaska built after 1992; learn more about this standard and what the ventilation requirements are for a home today.  This class covers how to calculate ventilation rates using option I and II, balancing and measuring airflows, ICBO code requirements, equipment selection, and ventilation strategies.  Included with the class is a full-color field reference guide and a handy BEES ventilation worksheet that takes the guesswork out of certifying BEES ventilation compliance.
