#901 BPI Building Analyst Written Exam

Exam Description
This is information regarding the Building Performance Institutes written exam for the Building Analyst certification. Please note that there are TWO parts to this certification process. One, is this written exam; two is a practical field exam.

Exam Information
The exam consists of 100 questions and covers the following seven topics;
Fundamentals of Building Science
Fundamentals of Buildings and their Systems
Fundamentals and Application of Measurement and Verification of Building Performance
Fundamentals of BPI Standards & Project Specifications
Fundamentals of Analyzing Building Systems
Fundamentals of Professional Ethics, Conduct & Communications

In order to pass the exam you will need an accuracy of 70% or better. You are allowed to bring a single copy of the BPI Building Analyst Technical Standard to the exam which you can print from this location. You will also want to bring a pencil and a non-graphing calculator. Scratch paper will be provided at the exam. You will have exactly 2 hours to complete the exam.

Testing Requirements
You must arrive at the testing center 30 (thirty) minutes prior to the schedule exam time to complete the registration process, if you are not present with your laptop up and running by the scheduled time you will not be admitted to the exam and will forfeit their testing fee.

You must bring your own laptop and the laptop must be capable of connecting to the internet through an ethernet connection. If you do not have a laptop we do have a very limited number of laptops for rent, please contact us here if you would like to inquire about laptop rental for the test. The exam will be administered over the internet.

Prerequisites: At a minimum we recommend you have previously taken; #111 - Building Techniques for Cold Climates; #190 - Basic Building Science ; #260 AkWarm ; #270 - Basic Blower Door ; #271  - Combustion Safety Testing ; #130- Alaska's Energy & Ventilation Standard.
