
Blower Door Certification
This 16 hour course covers how to operate a blower door for air tightness testing on the first day with field work to implement classroom training on the second day. Using a blower door for building diagnostic testing, remodeling, and weatherization work is the focus of this course. Included in this course is blower door operation, calculating building volume and calculation of air changes per hour for any structure based on blower door testing. Also covered are problems that may arise during testing, such as buildings that are too leaky to test, procedures to ensure a safe air tightness test, and how to interpret various air testing results.
Seating is limited to 16 students per course, please call for seating availability.
Please note: This class for a limited time is FREE OF CHARGE to those in the construction industry through a program through Alaska Housing Finance Corporation to provide training for building professionals on energy efficient building and retrofit.
This class is also a requirement prior to obtaining your Energy Rater certification, as well as a Weatherization Tech 1 certification. For more details on becoming either of these professionals please contact us here.
