
2006 International Residential Code, Building Planning
This course is the first in a series of classes that are an introduction to the 2006 International Residential Code's building planning section. The building planning section of this code informs the student of basic requirements in general health and safety requirements for residential structures. In subsequent chapters the book covers specific requirements for foundations, floors, walls, roofs, etc.
This course addresses codes related to seismic design, wind design, house location on the lot, minimum room size requirements, ceiling heights, light, ventilation, and heating requirements for the house and individual rooms, afety glass, garages and carports, egress, exits, foam plastics, flame and smoke index, insulation, dwelling unit separation and protection from decay.
