Basic Blower Door - AHFC Sponsored

Course Description
This 16 hour course covers how to operate a blower door for air tightness testing on the first day, with field work to implement classroom training on the second day.  Using a blower door for building diagnostic testing, remodeling, and weatherization work is the focus of this course.  Included in this course is blower door operation, calculating building volume, and calculation of air changes per hour for any structure based on blower door testing.   Also covered are problems that may arise during testing such as buildings that are too leaky to test, procedures to ensure a safe air tightness test, and how to interpret various air testing results.    

This course does not have any prerequisites, however a background in basic building science is highly recommended.

Length of Class
2 Days - 16 Hours

This course, sponsored by AHFC and is free. To guarantee your seat in the class you must  put a $250 deposit down. Upon attendance of the class your deposit will be refunded. If you fail to attend and do not provide written proof of cancellation at least 14 days prior to the start of the class you will forfeit your deposit to AHFC.

If a course is full you will be alerted prior to payment that the class is full and if you continue you will be placed on a standby list. If there is a cancellation in the class prior to the start of the class date we take the next person on the standby list. If you register for a class and you are denied entry due to availability of seating we will refund your registration deposit in full at any time, no later than the day of class.
